Dream Healing: Can dreams show us the root cause of our fears?
As we traverse through the Dream realm, we are often surprised at how connected we feel to every working of our senses. Images, auditory, and movements make us feel like we are one with our dreams, free-moving as the spirit pleases.
However, not all dreams are pleasant, and at times, we experience nightmares that can pinpoint an underlying condition, stress and anxiety in the waking life, and even psychic trauma stored deep in the unconscious, causing havoc on our Body, Mind and Spirit.
In other words, we cannot be quick to diagnose the Mind with its thoughts, patterns, and conditionings or label a fear with an ailment. More often than not, this fear stems from a deeper root, a core belief embedded in the unconscious placed in the Mind through a choice to see an illusion as Truth, disregarding intuition.
So how can we reconnect our psychic connection to these fears stored deep in our unconscious and bring their meaning to the surface of Consciousness?
One of the answers is through Dreams!
The Effect of Objective and External Stimuli on Our Dreams
Sigmund Freud said that Dreams are the direct expression of unconscious psychic activity.
Dreams are where our Psychic Senses come to life. Our Sight, Smell, Taste, Touch, Feeling, and even proprioception become heightened in our dream state and are projected onto a canvas in the spotlight, where anything is possible in our dreams.
If our fears stem from a deep core belief or Memory embedded in the unconscious Mind, wouldn't our Dreams show us our connection to these ailments?
Scientists have discovered that a disturbance in sleep causes Dreams due to four types of stimuli.
Objective (External) sensory stimuli
Internal (Subjective) Sensory stimuli
Internal (Organic) Physical Sensory Stimuli
Purely Psychical Sources of Excitation
Objective (External) Sensory Stimuli
As we fall asleep, we are not shielded by the effects of external stimuli. Noise from outside and, at times, even inside our homes, particularly those who live in apartment buildings, disturbs our sleep, giving us stimulating dreams.
The ability of our Body to be able to perceive external stimuli is called somatosensory stimuli, which includes the following sensations:
Touch
Heat
Pressure
Sounds
Smells
As a result, our heightened psychic senses are amplified and can create a stimulating dialogue based on the symphony of bodily sensations triggered by our environment in our dreams.
Here is An example that happened to me often when I was at University in my early twenties.
I was on a hero's journey, working full-time in the evenings, running professional track and field, and pursuing my science degree, sleeping three hours a night.
I often would fall asleep in class and be taken on this recurring dream journey:
"I found myself at the edge of a red cliff, as if at the top of a Grand Canyon or some desert place. Never have I been here, maybe in a past life; I am not sure, but the dream is the same. Something pushes me off the cliff, and I fall head-first toward the ground. As I am falling, I can feel my Body about to break on pure concrete ground, and BANG! I am woken up right before I hit the ground by someone dropping their textbook on the ground next to me, and I practically fall off my chair in the classroom."
Scientists still need to explain how the Body can sense sounds in the dream state before they occur.
Another mind-boggling question is: What is controlling what? Is the energy radiating from my Body so sensitive and powerful during the dream state, creating the outer dialogue that leads to my mate next to me dropping his textbook, or does the psychic connection of my Body feel what is to come moments before and show through the dream?
Internal (Subjective) Sensory Stimuli
Internal Sensory Stimuli are very difficult to test since they occur in the inner workings of a person's process. Thus, several feelings, opinions, perceptions and beliefs must be considered when understanding why a specific dream occurs.
Not only this but during the state between waking and falling asleep, hypnagogic hallucinations usually occur.
This form of hallucination usually translates into dreams. However, it is also the clairvoyant state in the Mind where we can be awake and aware of our dreams.
In shamanism, this is often called dream walking or Soul traversing through the dream state. It is also a process that usually occurs during meditation, trance periods, and hypnotherapy.
In this state, with practice, I find it incredibly healing to discover hidden trauma, fears and the root causes for these ailments. Due to the ability to be aware of the dream, your rational Mind is still present as the unconscious dream images are taking place.

Internal (Organic) Sensory Stimuli
Internal Organic Stimuli occur when dreams respond to the organs that are not working effectively or to their utmost capacity.
When we are awake, the brain responds to several sensory stimuli of the environment, and it does not have the opportunity to focus on what the Body is trying to tell it.
However, during sleep, the brain is in tune with the Body's vibrations and can pinpoint if any underlying issues need to be addressed.
For example, earlier this year, I had a dream that I was running track and field. I was sprinting, and I could feel my quadricep muscle on my right side pulsing as if trying to pop out of my leg. It started to throb, and I woke up to my Right Quadricep throbbing, pulsing as if it was trying to come out. - I have been growing muscle in my right leg for the last two years since my knee injury, and it has been heavily on my Mind.
Psychic Sources of Excitation
Psychic excitation sources occur due to the Psychic Bond the dreamer has to their waking life. The connection the individual has to what they do during the day appears and translates into the dream state.
For example, my day-to-day activities often involve doing tarot readings for clients online. As a result, it is very common for me to dream of continuing this process of providing tarot readings to particular users in the dream state.
I also enjoy working out during the week and often continue the workout in my dream state. - You can say I am living my dreams 😁💥
Unconscious to Conscious; the Road to Dream Healing.
The Effects of external and internal stimuli on dreams can illuminate the Ego and its psychic connection to the spirit.
If the Ego is sick, i.e. afraid or attached to a type of suffering, dreams are a way for us to connect to the intuitive voice within our unconscious that shows us through heightened vibrational senses the root cause of our fears. Thus, we can work through it more efficiently and retrieve solutions to solve the mysteries of our perceived imbalances within.
